On Tuesday, January 29, 2013, President Obama outlined his plan for Comprehensive Immigration Reform: better enforcement of immigration laws, providing a path to citizenship for the more than 11 million undocumented immigrants already in the country, and reforming the legal immigration system. The highlights seem to mirror the Bipartisan group of Senators’ framework, which was announced just the day before. LPPC is hopeful to see this reform before the end of the year. To bolster our spirits, President Obama announced on Wednesday, January 30th that he feels it is possible to get CIR completed within the first half of 2013.
